Great article. I’m the lifter with no talent. Why am I doing it? Because I love it and it makes me happy. I enjoy the challenge, hard work, meeting goals, training, structure, improvement, camaraderie, results. For me it’s a way of dealing with life stresses, it’s therapeutic. It’s a lesson in celebrating progress, not perfection. I do it for me. I am a long-term project, and I hope to someday be the little old lady competing in local meets.
